A soft drink imported from Taiwan has been removed from supermarket shelves after the Centre for Food Safety urged the public not to consume it as the product might contain precipitate, mold, and yeast.
The affected product is "Apple sidra" made in Taiwan and imported by Huang Ju Food (International) Co., Limited and International Leadway Limited.
A Centre for Food Safety (CFS) spokesperson urged the public not to consume the carbonated apple soft drink if they had bought any and to seek medical treatment if they feel unwell after consuming the product.
It also instructed the importers to stop sales of the affected products and initiate a recall.
The CFS noted a notification from the Taiwan Food and Drug Administration that the product was being recalled in Taiwan due to the presence of precipitates, mold, and yeast and will continue to monitor the situation and take appropriate follow-up actions.
