Art Central will return to the Central Harbourfront from March 25 to 29, 2026, ushering in a new chapter with the debut of a dedicated curated section titled “Central Stage.”
The annual art fair, a highlight of Hong Kong’s art calendar, will be jointly curated by Europe-based curator and artist Enoch Cheng and Hong Kong–based independent curator Zoie Yung. Cheng returns to lead the fair’s curated gallery programs, while Yung will oversee the creative programs, marking her first collaboration with Art Central.

This year’s edition will once again bring together galleries from Hong Kong and around the world, presenting contemporary works by established and mid-career artists.
Approximately 20 percent of participating artists and galleries are from Hong Kong, while around 75 percent hail from across the Asia-Pacific region, creating a platform for collectors and art enthusiasts to engage with diverse artistic practices.
A key addition to the 2026 fair is “Central Stage,” which will spotlight artists who have recently participated, are currently participating, or are set to take part in major international exhibitions and biennials. Six special presentations have been selected for the section.
Among the featured artists is Tokyo-based collective SIDE CORE. Founded in 2012 by Sakie Takasu, Tohru Matsushita, and Taishi Nishihiro, with Kazunori Harimoto as video director, the group works across public installations and spatial interventions. Their practice examines the circulation of messages in urban and communal spaces, drawing from the histories and aesthetics of street culture.
Corey Andrew Barr, Fair Director of Art Central, said the fair is entering a new phase with a renewed sense of purpose.
“Art Central opens its next chapter with intent and urgency, a platform where new artistic voices meet a shifting global conversation. Central Stage deepens this vision by spotlighting artists at defining moments in their practice, bringing institutional recognition and gallery presentation into the same arena to spark new encounters between Hong Kong, Asia, and the international art scene.
“The Fair celebrates the bonds between artists, galleries, and audiences, fostering a sense of kinship that empowers collectors and visitors to support the art community while pushing the discourse of contemporary art forward from Hong Kong to the world,” he said.
