HK Tennis Open 2025: Local stars ready to take on world’s best

Hong Kong’s tennis fans are in for a treat as the Prudential Hong Kong Tennis Open 2025 kicks off tomorrow (Oct 25) at the Tennis Centre Court of Victoria Park. The WTA 250 tournament runs until 2 November, featuring a mix of local talent and some of the world’s top female players.

Local hopes rest on Eudice Chong and Cody Wong, both awarded wild cards for the singles main draw. The pair will also team up for the doubles, alongside Justine Leong and Maggie Ng, who received wild cards for the doubles main draw. Maggie Ng and Kallista Liu will take the court in Saturday’s qualifying matches against Chinese and Japanese opponents.

“My form has improved recently, especially in doubles,” said Chong. “I’m excited to play with Cody again, and I hope fans come out to cheer for us and all Hong Kong players.”

Wong added: “Competing at home is always special. The support from local fans gives me extra motivation, and I’m looking forward to challenging the world’s best.”

International stars in action include Tokyo Olympic gold medalist Belinda Bencic, Canadian star Victoria Mboko, and Filipino rising star Alexandra Eala. Chinese tennis pioneer Li Na returns as Tournament Director for a second year.

Tickets & Public Access

All qualifying matches on 25–26 October, as well as main draw matches on Court 1 and Court 2 during the week, will be free to the public.

The main draw opens on 27 October with the traditional ‘People’s Monday’, also free of charge. Tickets for premium seating are available via Klook, ranging from HK$220 to HK$970 (Cat 1) and HK$160 to HK$760 (Cat 2), with 50% discounts for students, youth under 18, and seniors aged 60+.

The Tournament Village will remain open throughout the event, free for all visitors.
