A 23-year-old man was arrested early yesterday in connection with a robbery at a jewelry shop in Sheung Shui on Wednesday.

The suspect, reportedly a mechanic, was apprehended in Pat Heung.
At about 6.30pm on Wednesday, four armed robbers wielding knives and hammers stormed into a jewelry store located on San Fung Avenue.
They made off with jewelry valued at HK$1.5 million.
They fled in a black car, which was later abandoned following a collision with another car in Tai Po.The vehicle carrying the robbers collided with another car at a roundabout on Lam Kam Road's Ng Tung Chai at around 7pm.
Following the crash, they fled on foot.Police discovered weapons believed to have been used in the robbery inside the vehicle.
Clothing and masks suspected to have been used during the robbery were found on a nearby hillside.Authorities said the car had been observed near the crime scene two days prior.
Chief inspector Law Like-him said officers are working to recover the stolen property and apprehend the other suspects.Investigations indicate all the robbers are non-Chinese males and there is no evidence to suggest they are affiliated with triads. The 23-year-old man is expected to be charged with robbery and will appear in the Tuen Mun magistrates' court tomorrow.
