One of the 310 people who had a near miss with the HK$100 million from the New Year's Mark Six snowball draw on Thursday received "congratulatory messages" for his third prize.Ten people won second prize, receiving over HK$980,000 per winner, while 310 people won third prize, getting HK$80,400 per winner.
The snowball drew numbers 9, 23, 42, 44, 45, 46, with the special number being 22. The combination of 42, 44, 45 and 46 might have caught many off guard, with no one being able to take away the HK$100 million first prize.

One of the third prize winners missed the first prize by a number. "I don't think I can buy much with HK$80,400, I only want to travel to Japan," he said.
"Your life would have changed forever if you picked number 23 instead of 17," one web user said.
With no first prize winner, the snowball is carried forward to the draw tomorrow, bringing it to HK$128 million, making it the biggest amount in history.
Tickets are available before 9.15pm tomorrow night, with the draw at 9.30pm.
