Foodpanda delivers for supermarkets

Hongkongers can now shop up to 5,000 items from supermarkets Wellcome and Market Place on Foodpanda, which aims to deliver within 45 minutes to all districts in the city.

The items include fresh food, snacks, soft drinks, and groceries.

Before the end of this month, customers can enjoy up 50 percent off on selected Wellcome or Market Place items using Foodpanda.

From now until June 20, people can also enjoy an additional 15 percent off on a purchases of HK$380 or more, with up to a maximum of HK$80 off.

This came after Keeta, under China's food delivery giant Meituan, surpassed Foodpanda for the first time in obtaining 43 percent of the city's food delivery market by order volumes in the first quarter, according to data from Measurable AI. Foodpanda recorded a 37 percent in the first three months.

However, Foodpanda retains its top position in terms of order volume and gross merchandises value across all services, covering food, grocery, delivery, and pickup.
