Nearly one in two Hongkongers plan to travel in the next three to six months on an average budget of HK$22,918, an AIA Hong Kong survey shows.
The survey was conducted late last year on 1,023 workers aged between 18 and 65, with at least one mandatory provident fund account, regarding their goals and desired retirement life.
Some 73 percent of respondents said they will increase their spending on leisure activities as their social lives return to normal.
Around 58 percent of people planned to use their savings on "revenge travel" following the scrapping of Covid restrictions.
Seventeen percent have purchased additional medical insurance since the start of the pandemic while 58 percent prefer a hybrid working mode and hope to work from home for an average of 2.8 days a week, despite most thinking that such arrangements cause the boundary between work and personal life to blur.
And 78 percent are interested in environmental, social and corporate governance investments, while 80 percent admit that they do not know how to choose ESG MPF products.
