The chase was sparked by a 26-year-old waiter owing HK$60,000 from a gambling debt to the Sun Yee On society.
And the chase saw Police Commissioner Raymond Siu Chak-yee lead follow-up raids on Tsim Sha Tsui gambling dens and clubs allegedly controlled by the 14K and the Sun Yee On on Friday and Saturday and another 115 arrests.
Of 12 people arrested after the chase, five were charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm, dangerous driving, criminal damage and belonging to a triad society. They were freed on bail after appearing in Sha Tin Magistrates' Court on Saturday.
The other seven were released on police bail and must report back to police next month.
Trouble started at midnight on Thursday when the restaurant worker was clubbed by a 27-year-old Sun Yee On member and three associates over a gambling debt in Sha Tin.
A 36-year-old 14K member who was a friend of the waiter tried to intervene but was also assaulted.
He then contacted associates via WhatsApp, providing a GPS location so they could find him.
But he and the waiter were bundled into a white minivan and taken away by the Sun Yee On group.
The waiter was released in Sham Shui Po later with minor injuries. He called for an ambulance and was taken to Yan Chai Hospital in Tsuen Wan.
Meanwhile, the Sun Yee On group drove to Kowloon Tong to pick up an associate with the 14K member still in the vehicle.
And that was where 14K members in three cars, who had been tracking their associate through GPS, intercepted them. But the outnumbered Sun Yee On group drove off and made it to Tsuen Wan chased by their rivals.
During the chase all four vehicles jumped red lights, and one 14K vehicle collided with a truck and crashed at the junction of Yeung Uk Road and Texaco Road.
The Sun Yee On group then made a U-turn to Kwai Yi Road and smashed their minivan through a gate at Kwai Chung Police Station, making it into the car park while the chasers parked outside.
Police then arrested the four Sun Yee On members in the van and their 14K captive. The other seven were rounded up later.
