Watsons establishes foothold in Bahrain

AS Watson Group and Al-Futtaim Group have jointly announced the opening of Watsons' new flagship store at City Centre Bahrain Mall, signifying the Watsons' entry into a new market alongside the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia and Qatar.

This also marks the third store opening in three months in Bahrain, strengthening its presence across the Gulf Cooperation Council.

With a projected market growth of US$38.8 million (HK$302.64 million) at a compound annual growth rate of 5 percent from 2024 to 2029, Bahrain offers great opportunities for Watsons' expansion strategy.

AS Watson CEO Malina Ngai Man-lin said: "the expansion of Watsons health and beauty retail experience into Bahrain is an important milestone in our commitment to the GCC region."

Simon Naga, vice president of Al-Futtaim Group, said the group will focus on delivering innovative retail solutions that meet the evolving needs of consumers as it continues to expand in the GCC market.
