Legco members slurp it up in Japan

Hong Kong's 30-strong Legislative Council delegation visited the cup noodle museum by Nissin Foods in Yokohama, Japan, as Legco president Andrew Leung Kwan-yuen said the food manufacturing giant's creativity and mode of operation was quite inspiring.

Sharing on his Facebook yesterday, Leung said the delegation also promoted Hong Kong's role in the international food trade to the chief executive officer of Nissin Foods, Kiyotaka Ando -- including the possibility of leveraging on the quality assurance of Made in Hong Kong to attract customers and open up the Greater Bay Area market.

They also paid a visit to Yokohama's Chinatown, the largest in Asia, and exchanged views with Akio Takematsu, Vice Chairman of its development association, as well as the latest on street management of the area.

They also found shops with panda-themed goods, which are very popular among local residents and foreign tourists.
