Taxi e-payment ‘3pc fee’ notices spark debate on rollout day

Founder and chairman of Emperor Group Albert Yeung Sau-shing, who has been dedicated to charitable work for over 50 years, received the "2024 Philanthropic Leader with Outstanding Contribution" award at the 2024 Charity Ceremony organized by China Philanthropy Times in Beijing yesterday.
As the first award recipient to take the stage, Albert Yeung said that he would continue to guide the group in the expansion of its charitable projects to benefit a broader community.
Alex Yeung won recognition for his charitable efforts with the "2024 Philanthropist of the Year" award.
"The spirit of philanthropy is a belief I have always upheld. I aim to help young people achieve upward mobility while guiding them to give back to society, fostering a new generation of core contributions to the public welfare and charity sector of the nation," he said.Also chairing the Hong Kong United Youth Association, he said the association utilized the Disaster Relief Fund to purchase supplies and deliver holiday greetings to affected residents in the Mentougou district in Beijing. The association will also visit disaster-affected residents in Qinghai and Gansu next month.
Fok, with 30 years in the artiste management industry, was honored with the "Most Influential Leading Philanthropist" award for her efforts in promoting cultural industry education and nurturing young talent. She said she consistently upheld her commitment to positive influences and frequently participated in charitable activities with artists under the entertainment group."I [also] often advise the artistes to leverage their influence to bring more positivity to the public," she added.
According to the organizer, 226 philanthropists and groups contributed over 11.3 billion yuan (HK$12.1 billion) in donations in 2023 - marking the second-highest amount in the past 21 years.
