A suspected drug trafficker was arrested in Tsuen Wan this morning after a wild car chase that left two police officers injured and multiple vehicles damaged.
The incident occurred around 9am when a silver private car allegedly ran a red light while making a left turn on Kwok Shui Road. An unmarked police vehicle happened to be in the area and immediately initiated a pursuit.
The suspect fled toward the Cheung Wing Road roundabout. After circling the intersection, the driver was blocked by traffic at a stoplight and collided with a van and another private car.
As the unmarked police closed in, the trapped driver suddenly threw his car into reverse, ramming the officers' vehicle before abandoning his car and fleeing on foot. While an officer opened his door to give chase, the driver kicked the police vehicle’s door shut, causing the officer to strike his head.
Following a brief 30-meter foot chase and a physical struggle, a second officer successfully subdued and arrested the driver.
Authorities recovered approximately 50 small packets of suspected narcotics, including ketamine, cocaine, and etomidate, from the driver's handbag and the vehicle.

Two officers sustained minor injuries and received treatment at the scene.
Sources revealed that the suspect faces multiple charges, including driving without a license, vehicle theft, and driving without third-party insurance. He also failed a rapid drug test and is suspected of driving under the influence of drugs.
Police believe the car was being operated as a drug delivery vehicle.
