Tiffany Chung Wai-ting will become District Officer (Tai Po) on Wednesday, replacing Eunice Chan Hau-man, not long after Chan had to apologize for her attire at a fire victim's memorial.
Tiffany Chung, who joined the Administrative Service in 2010, has held roles in the Financial Services and the Treasury Bureau, Education Bureau, Development Bureau, Policy Innovation and Co-ordination Office, and Food and Health Bureau.
She was most recently Assistant Director (Market Development) at the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department.
Her predecessor, Eunice Chan Hau-man, drew online criticism for wearing a black-and-white patterned dress while paying respects at a memorial for victims of the Hung Fuk Court fire.
The Home Affairs Department first stated officials dress appropriately for such occasions but then apologized on social media the next day.
