Central Kowloon Bypass sees first traffic crash on third day since opening

The first traffic accident on the Yau Ma Tei section of the Central Kowloon Bypass was reported on Tuesday morning (Dec 23), on the third day since the road opened to motorists.

Police said a private car traveling towards Kwai Chung collided with a dump truck near the Yau Ma Tei tunnel exit at around 9.16am. The private car came to a halt across the right lane, with its front pointing towards the roadside barrier, and was damaged in the collision.

No injuries were reported. Police are investigating the cause of the crash.
