The Hong Kong Palace Museum (HKPM) has announced the resumption of on-site ticket sales for the special exhibition "Ancient Egypt Unveiled: Treasures from Egyptian Museums," starting at 3.30pm on Sunday.
The decision follows the museum's temporary suspension of on-site ticket sales at 11am earlier today (Nov 23) owing to an overwhelming number of visitors.
According to the museum, tickets will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis due to limited availability.
In response to the weekend crowd, the museum has extended the opening hours of Gallery 9 until 8pm today.
Additional staff have also been deployed to assist with crowd management and to ensure smooth entry for all visitors.
Anticipating lines during peak afternoon hours, HKPM advises visitors to consider early evening visits and to follow staff instructions for orderly entry.
The museum reported that today’s entry process has been running smoothly, with visitors experiencing wait times of about 15 to 30 minutes during peak hours.
HKPM reaffirmed its commitment to continuously reviewing and optimizing measures to enhance the visitor experience.
Featuring 250 precious artifacts from seven major Egyptian museums, this exhibition spans over 5,000 years of history, making it the largest Ancient Egypt-themed exhibition in the city.
Opened to the public last Thursday(Nov 20), the exhibition will run until the end of August next year.
