False alarm: Police with shields respond to reported knife hostage incident in Kwai Chung

Police responded to a reported knife hostage incident at Ha Kwai House in Kwai Chung Estate on Wednesday night around 9 pm, but found no evidence of the alleged crime.

Authorities received reports claiming a woman was being held at knifepoint by a man inside a unit. Officers wearing stab-resistant vests and carrying long shields arrived at the scene to investigate.

They discovered only one woman inside the unit, who showed no signs of injury. Preliminary investigations indicate the woman lives alone in the unit. Police are examining the woman's mental state and have temporarily classified the case as a "dispute."
