A 31-year-old unemployed man, surnamed Hon, was remanded in custody after appearing at the Kowloon City Magistrates’ Courts on Wednesday for allegedly stabbing two men at Hoi Sham Park in To Kwa Wan. He has been charged with two counts of wounding with intent.
Magistrate Byron Tsang Chung-yiu adjourned the case until December 3 at the prosecution’s request for further investigation. Hon, charged with two counts of wounding with intent, did not apply for bail and will be remanded until then.
The two victims — a 37-year-old man surnamed Fok and a 20-year-old man surnamed Yan — remain in critical condition.
Police said earlier that the pair, who are friends but did not know the attacker, were chatting at a pavilion in the park on October 4 when the suspect suddenly attacked them with a small fruit knife.
Fok sustained three stab wounds to his neck and shoulders, while Yan suffered 10 stab wounds to his neck, chest, back, and arms.
Described as homeless, Hon appeared calm in court, wearing a burgundy shirt, and replied “understood” after the charges were read.
Police said the suspect allegedly threw the weapon into the sea while fleeing along Chi Kiang Street toward Whampoa.
