Ballots were drawn on Thursday (Oct 2) for the Housing Authority's Sale of Green Form Subsidised Home Ownership Scheme Flats 2024 (GSH 2024), with the flat selection process to be started in the fourth quarter of this year at the earliest.
The first 10 drawn numbers are 62, 66, 08, 32, 82, 76, 52 ,39, 19 and 44.
A total of 2,576 new GSH flats from Wang Chi Court in Kowloon Bay and remaining flats which were previously put up for sale under GSH 2020/21 and GSH 2022 are offered by the Hong Kong Housing Authority for this phase, with a 40 percent discount from the assessed market value.
Wang Chi Court provides three residential buildings in total with saleable areas of flats ranging from about 193 square feet to about 466 square feet.
The selling price ranges from HK$1.15 million to HK$3.49 million, with an average selling price of approximately HK$2.47 million and an average price per square foot of HK$6,740.
The authority said as of the application deadline on August 6, around 36,000 applications were received with an oversubscription of about 13 times, similar to the Home Ownership Scheme 2024.
To increase applicants' purchasing chances, the GSH Ownership Scheme 2024 allocated an additional ballot number to applicants who have applied for GSH two times in a row but failed.
Additionally, tenants affected by the Squatter Clearance Program will have priority in selecting flats over other applicants under the scheme if they choose to purchase subsidized sale flats instead of moving into public housing.
In this phase, a quota of 1,050 units was set aside for family applicants participating in the Priority Scheme for Families with Elderly Members and the Families with Newborns Flat Selection Priority Scheme, while a quota of 250 units was reserved for single applicants.
