A female construction worker in her 60s succumbed to injuries after being trapped in a crane at a Tai Po worksite on Tuesday afternoon, with emergency services unable to save her despite rushing her to a nearby hospital.

The accident occurred at a construction site along Tai Po Road in the Cheung Shue Tan area of Tai Po.
Around 3pm today, a female worker, surnamed Ko and in her 60s, was reportedly struck and trapped between a crane and a railing at the site.
Emergency responders quickly arrived and freed the worker, who was promptly transported to Alice Ho Miu Ling Nethersole Hospital for urgent medical treatment.
Despite these efforts, her injuries were too severe, and she was pronounced dead at the hospital.
The Labour Department is currently investigating the circumstances of the accident to determine the cause of her death.
The Association for the Rights of Industrial Accident Victims expressed deep sorrow over the incident, noting that their staff have reached out to the worker’s family and will continue to provide support and assistance as needed.
