The University of Hong Kong (HKU) on Monday announced new crowd management measures to handle an expected increase in visitors during mainland China’s National Day Golden Week, implementing pre-registration requirements for weekday visits from September 29 to October 10 to ensure a smooth campus experience.

To manage the expected influx, the university will require visitors to pre-register through its online platform for entry on weekdays between 8am and 8.30pm, with access subject to daily quotas.
On weekends and public holidays, however, no prior registration will be necessary.
The university plans to closely monitor the effectiveness of these measures and make adjustments based on feedback from its community and the public.
