The Hong Kong International School (HKIS), founded by the Lutheran Church–Missouri Synod (LCMS), is facing a governance dispute that has escalated to legal action in the High Court.
The church has accused the school’s management of multiple operational issues, alleging breaches of their operating agreement.
In response, the school’s PFO has publicly expressed strong support for HKIS and its leadership during this legal conflict.
The parent-teacher association emphasized its confidence in the school’s ability to uphold its mission and values, asserting that HKIS remains committed to providing a safe, nurturing, and high-quality educational environment for all students.
While acknowledging that the ongoing legal dispute may pose challenges, the group believes it will not affect the quality of education or the well-being of students.
The association highlighted the management’s consistent focus on prioritizing students and teachers, a commitment they expect to continue unchanged.
The parent-teacher group further noted that HKIS is dedicated to safeguarding the best interests of the school community.
As a long-standing supporter of the school’s mission, the organization pledged to stand united with HKIS during this period, expressing optimism about the resilience, strength, and integrity of the school community as it navigates the dispute.
