Hong Kong Ocean Park is gearing up to celebrate the first birthday of giant panda twins "Jia Jia" and "De De" with a series of festivities, including an exclusive party for children born on the same day as the cubs. The park has also teamed up with popular franchise LABUBU to launch limited-edition collectibles.
The celebration, set for August 15, will invite one-year-old babies born in Hong Kong on the same date as the panda twins, along with annual pass holders and members of the "Panda Twins Fan Club."
Parents interested in joining the special party can enter by leaving a creative comment on designated Facebook and Instagram posts by August 4. The most heartfelt entries will win tickets, with winners notified by August 5.
Attendees must present their child’s birth certificate for verification upon entry, while member registrations will be handled on a first-come, first-served basis via the park’s official website.
In collaboration with the Culture, Sports, and Tourism Bureau and the Hong Kong Tourism Board, Ocean Park will also host the "LABUBU x Panda Twins Lucky Draw," offering visitors a chance to win a special birthday-edition LABUBU x Panda Twins vinyl toy designed by local artist Kasing Lung.
The panda twins and Ocean Park’s Panda Friends characters will also make appearances across the city, featured on public transport and iconic street signs.
International panda enthusiasts and influencers will be invited to send birthday wishes to the cubs.
Inside the park, festivities will include Panda Friends-themed installations, giant inflatable versions of Jia Jia and De De, and a special "Gala of Lights – panda birthday edition" light show.
Visitors can create personalized birthday cards for the twins, and those entering between August 15 and 17 may receive surprise gifts. Additionally, birthday-themed retail items will be available later this month.
