The Hong Kong Book Fair commenced today and will continue until July 22 at the Convention and Exhibition Centre. At 10am, attendees eagerly entered the venue as the Fair officially began.
This year's theme is "Food Culture, Future Living." Numerous parents were observed accompanying their children to explore the offerings of the Fair.
Culture chief enjoys the Fair
Secretary for Culture, Sports and Tourism Rosanna Law Shuk-pui engaged with the "Book Here" installation and explored the functionalities of an artificial intelligence camera during her visit to a booth.
"Upon entering the venue, one is welcomed by the delightful aroma of books," Law remarked, emphasizing that the opportunity to immerse oneself in the fragrance of literature and indulge in reading represents the utmost pleasure.
She spent approximately HK$900 purchasing seven books, including those written by Chinese President Xi Jinping.
Excitable atmosphere leaves students in high spirits
Chan and Ng, both secondary school students, said they arrived at the venue at approximately 9.30am this morning.
Ng observed that the atmosphere of the Fair was vibrant, characterized by a continuous influx of visitors, which contributed to his excitement. He planned to purchase Chinese language exercise books and other study materials to facilitate his revision during the summer break.
Chan said the book prices at the fair are quite reasonable. In addition to acquiring study guides, he also considered obtaining reference materials related to subjects of personal interest to broaden his knowledge.
