A man was found dead after committing suicide in Causeway Bay after losing contact with his landlord.
In a unit located on Lockhart Road, Causeway Bay, the landlord lost contact with a male tenant for some time and decided to visit the property this morning at 10.08am.
Upon arriving at the property, the landlord received no response despite repeated knocking. A strange odor was also noticed emanating from the apartment, which led to the landlord calling the police for assistance.
Firefighters were called to the scene to force entry into the apartment. Inside, they found a 57-year-old man deceased. The state of decomposition and the presence of maggots suggested that he had been dead for some time.
Burnt charcoal was also found near the body. The police are currently investigating the incident.
