Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU) has made impressive strides in the newly released 2025 Times Higher Education (THE) Asia University Rankings, moving from 63rd place last year to 50th this year.
The achievement also marks the University's best performance in the Rankings since 2018. Over the past two years, HKBU has made remarkable progress, climbing from 105th to 50th in the rankings.
"HKBU is delighted to be recognized as one of the top 50 universities in Asia in this ranking and views this as an important reference for its ongoing commitment to excellence in teaching, learning and research standards," it said in a statement.
The 2025 THE Asia University Rankings cover a total of 853 universities from 35 Asian countries or regions and rank the universities based on five indicators: "Industry", "International Outlook", "Research Quality", "Research Environment", and "Teaching".
HKBU stated that the improvement in rankings highlights its commitment to enhancing the quality of its research and overall academic environment, while focusing on providing an educational experience that combines creativity with technology and practical learning.
The University prides itself on cultivating a vibrant student community filled with creativity and diverse talents, offering a supportive environment in which both students and scholars can pursue exploration and research.
With a strong focus on the key areas of creative media and practice, health and drug discovery, humanities, data analytics and artificial intelligence, HKBU said it is committed to driving innovative transdisciplinary research and aims to turn research findings into tangible benefits for society and contribute to societal development.
