Popular Thai dessert chain After You exits Hong Kong market

After You Dessert Cafe, the beloved Thai dessert chain famous for its honey toast and Japanese-style shaved ice, will close its last remaining Hong Kong outlet at AIRSIDE in Kai Tak this Sunday (May 27), marking a full withdrawal from the city just three years after its much-hyped arrival.

The brand confirmed on social media that its flagship store in Wan Chai’s Lee Tung Avenue had already shut down, with the AIRSIDE branch following suit this weekend.

The chain, which operates in over 50 locations in Thailand, encouraged Hong Kong fans to visit its stores abroad.

“Though we’re saying goodbye (for now!). We hope to see you again. Feel free to stay in touch. You’re always welcome to visit us in Thailand anytime!” The social media post read.

After You made its Hong Kong debut in 2022 with a packed Causeway Bay location - its first overseas branch - but abruptly closed that outlet within months. It later relaunched in Wan Chai with a Hong Kong-exclusive salted egg yolk honey toast, followed by the AIRSIDE shop in 2023.
