This marks the first major exhibition of Pablo Picasso’s work in Hong Kong in over a decade. It features more than 60 masterpieces by the Spanish artist from MnPP and around 130 pieces by Asian and Asian-diasporic artists from the M+ Collections. It’s the first time that treasured artwork from MnPP has been showcased with an Asian museum collection.
The Club’s Charities Trust is supporting other programmes at the French May Arts Festival, which is being staged this year under the theme “Vive L’art”. They include French Rendezvous@Tai Kwun featuring a street parade called Le Bal that will be presented by renowned French troupe Remue Ménage. The Jockey Club Community Outreach and Arts Education Programmes exclusively sponsored by the Trust will also continue to offer an array of engaging activities including workshops, guided tours, school visits, in-depth discussions, screenings and masterclasses.
The Club has a long-standing commitment to promote arts and cultural development in Hong Kong. This aligns with the central Government’s vision of developing Hong Kong into an East-meets-West centre for international cultural exchange, as outlined in the National 14th Five-Year Plan.
The Club’s support for the French May Arts Festival, like all of its charity donations, is made possible by its unique integrated business model through which racing and wagering generate tax contributions, charity support and employment opportunities for the community.
