Bus captain’s handbrake slip sends double-decker mounts road divider

No injuries were reported after a bus mounted a road divider in Wong Tai Shin on Monday morning.

A Citybus route A29 lost control at around 9.57am and mounted on the stone curb when the bus stopped near the Temple Mall on Lung Cheung Road, leaving its front wheels dangling.

An initial investigation revealed that the 51-year-old driver, surnamed Lo, failed to pull the handbrake after coming to a stop, which resulted in the collision.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported during the incident, and all passengers were safely transferred to another bus to continue their journey.

The affected bus was subsequently returned to the depot, and a Citybus spokesman said the company will investigate the incident in line with the internal procedures.
