Tickets for the event had sold out well in advance, with fans from both Thailand and around the world eager to see the performer live. However, the recent Wang Xing incident has sparked significant online discussions and fears. With some even acting as swindlers, falsely claiming to gather at the concert, purportedly to abduct fans. This misinformation has led to widespread panic and concern.
In response to these safety fears, the concert's organizers decided to prioritize the well-being of fans by canceling the February show. Ticket holders are advised to follow the online procedures for refunds.
Lisa Kan Chin-chin, Eason Chan's manager, expressed regret over the decision but emphasized the importance of fan safety. "After reviewing various reports and considering the potential risks, we felt it necessary to avoid putting our fans and their families in a precarious situation," she said. Kan also acknowledged the disappointment of the fans, offering an apology and expressing hope for a future opportunity to perform in Thailand.
