Taxi drivers muttered that the number of passengers at the Kai Tak Cruise Terminal has dropped compared to last month, even with two cruise ships arriving on Monday.
Around 3,000 passengers aboard the Celebrity Solstice started to leave the arrivals hall around 7 am, with the majority opting for taxis or taking the free shuttle service to APM Mall in Kwun Tong.
The Norwegian Spirit also docked at the Kai Tak Cruise Terminal on Monday morning.
Taxis were lined up waiting for passengers starting around 6 am, with the queue stretching all the way to the bus stop.
Some taxi drivers grumbled that there seemed to be fewer passengers than last month when more than 100 tourists lined up for taxis as the Celebrity Solstice docked at the terminal.
Taxi drivers waiting at the terminal were offered gas vouchers worth HK$100. However, some drivers expressed that they might not return next time since much more business is available elsewhere.
