Several passengers fell from the escalator at MTR Whampoa Station and sustained injuries, marking the third accident that happened in MTR stations this week.
Rescue workers treated two injured individuals before sending them to Queen Elizabeth Hospital for further care. It was found that a passenger lost his balance and tumbled on an escalator, causing four others to fall as well.
The recent incident comes on the heels of two other serious escalator accidents that occurred within the week.
A man lost his footing and fell on the escalator at Cheung Sha Wan Station last Wednesday night (Nov 13), leading to injuries for four other passengers.
On Sunday (Nov 17), a tourist from a Hubei travel group fell on an escalator at Tsim Sha Tsui East Station, affecting at least six others.
