The four-day autumn edition of Hong Kong Electronics Fair and electronicAsia concluded on Wednesday (Oct 16), attracting over 60,000 industry buyers from 136 countries and regions.
Organized by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), the events saw an increase in buyers from Malaysia, Turkey, Argentina, and the UAE compared to last year.
According to an on-site survey conducted by an agency commissioned by the HKTDC, 53 percent of respondents expect overall sales to increase over the next one or two years, while 43 percent anticipate stable sales.
About 65 percent of respondents believe there is a "very promising" or "promising" market potential for wearable electronic products, and 59 percent consider the same for robotics technology.
Sophia Chong Suk-fan, Deputy Executive Director of the HKTDC, stated that the fairs enable exhibitors to showcase their electronic products and technology solutions to buyers, which expedites Hong Kong's development into an international IT center.
She also mentioned that there will be Hong Kong International Lighting Fair (Autumn Edition), Hong Kong International Outdoor and Tech Light Expo, and ECO Expo Asia in late October to create more cross-industry business opportunities.
