The first batch of tickets for iconic British rock band Coldplay’s concert in Hong Kong sold out in just about half an hour this morning, with some scalpers promptly reselling the tickets at significantly inflated prices, as high as HK$3,000 per one.

Tickets priced from HK$399 to HK$2,099 were sold out within 30 minutes after the presale began at 10 am on Monday.
Scalpers quickly resold the tickets on various online platforms, offering four tickets originally priced at HK$1,299 each for a total of HK$12,000. Moreover, they are requiring buyers to make an initial deposit.
Some resellers offered four standing tickets priced at HK$1,399 for HK$ 9,000.
The band is set to perform at the main stadium of the brand-new Kai Tak Sports Park on April 9, 11, and 12 next year, marking their first show in Hong Kong since 2009.
The upcoming two rounds of ticket presales are scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday before the public sales start on October 10th.
