The Urban Renewal Authority (URA) announced on Sunday that the Museum of Hong Kong Literature will be set up in June at Wan Chai to allow visitors to enjoy literary pieces.
The managing director of the URA Wai Chi-shing wrote in his blog today that the museum, located on 7 Mallory Street and inaugurated in June, will display valuable manuscripts, publications, and signed copies of Hong Kong writers.
Literature scholars will also be invited to hold various exchange sessions.
The opening exhibition will take "flowers" as the theme, connecting various flowers commonly used by writers with their literary works.
The museum will place several floral decorations in public spaces to create a literary garden that allows visitors to appreciate the city's literary works in different ways.
The URA stated that they have been committed to integrating art and culture into urban renewal projects.
They will create a popular spot for flower viewing at Nullah Road Urban Waterway Park and enhance the flower market atmosphere at the conservation and revitalization project of Prince Edward Road West and Yuen Ngai Street.
Wai added that they would also organize a "City Walk" activity in the conservation and revitalization project of Staunton Street and Shing Wong Street to link up with the urban renewal project in Central and Western Districts, allowing citizens and tourists to experience the art, culture and history of the district.
