Train service for Lo Wu station extended to facilitate 2am closing of border point

Train service for Lo Wu station on the East Rail Line will be extended during the nights of Lunar New Year’s Eve and on the second day of the LNY as the operating hours of the border point have been extended to 2 am the next day.

During these two nights, the last north-bound train on the East Rail Line to Lo Wu station will depart from Admiralty Station at 12.56 am and arrive at Lo Wu station at approximately 1.46 am, about 14 minutes before the control point closes. 

The last south-bound train on the East Rail Line will depart at 2.30 am from Lo Wu station, approximately half an hour after the control point closes, and will arrive at Admiralty station at about 3.20 am. 

The Lok Ma Chau Spur Line Control Point will close as usual at 10.30 pm on these two nights, and there will be no extended services for the East Rail Line at Lok Ma Chau station. 

All local railway lines, except the Airport Express and Disneyland Resort Line, and seven Light Rail routes will operate overnight on Lunar New Year’s Eve. 

Three MTR bus routes will also extend its service hours. 

Around 1,850 additional train trips will be provided throughout the Lunar New Year period to facilitate passenger travels. 

Passengers taking the East Rail Line on the second day of the LNY are reminded that they may not be able to interchange for other local railway lines which will maintain their regular last train schedules.
