"Fly-Via-Zhuhai-HK" passenger transfer service to start on Tue

China announced on Sunday the "Fly-Via-Zhuhai-HK" passenger transfer service, which streamlined customs procedures for the Zhuhai Airport and Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) travelers, will come into place on Tuesday (Dec 12).

The seamless passenger link service will allow mainland passengers arriving from the Zhuhai Airport to reach worldwide destinations via the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge (HZMB) and HKIA without undergoing immigration clearance in Hong Kong. 

At the same time, HKIA's international passengers can also travel to mainland cities via Zhuhai Airport through the reverse process.

Hong Kong and Zhuhai will continue exploring possible measures to enhance clearance efficiency and expand the "Fly-Via-Zhuhai-HK" to include mainland cities where Hong Kong does not have direct flights.

Both airports said they will leverage the strengths of their respective air networks and the HZMB to expand their customer base and further enhance competitiveness.
