The Hong Kong Jockey Club has been strongly committed to supporting the development of equestrian sports. All members participating in this edition of the Asian Games have received professional training and support from the Club through the Hong Kong Equestrian Performance Plan.
Moreover, the Club previously signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Asian Games Hangzhou Organising Committee to offer support in six functional areas for the Games’ equestrian events: biosecurity, horse transportation, stable management, veterinary and farrier services, venue operations and international stakeholder engagement.
These efforts include inspection of horse quarantine facilities and provision of recommendations; review of horse transportation procedures and facilities to ensure their compliance with international safety standards; appointment of personnel to oversee stable management and train stable teams; formation of veterinary and farrier service teams to offer necessary clinical services; as well as inspection of equestrian venue facilities, devices and equipment, alongside provision of recommendations.
Members of the HKJC Equestrian Team have represented Hong Kong, China in various editions of the Asian Games and won medals since 2010. To give the public a chance to see all the athletes strive for more honours, the Leisure and Cultural Services Department’s venues and the Club’s off-course betting branches are broadcasting this year’s Asian Games. Let’s all unite in cheering for Team Hong Kong, China.
