The Education Bureau (EDB) said Sunday that it has received the application from The Salvation Army to merge their two primary schools in Eastern Districts in the next academic year.
The two schools planned to be merged are The Salvation Army Centaline Charity Fund School and The Salvation Army Ann Wyllie Memorial School.
The sponsoring body of the schools said they would increase the number of International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme courses after the merge, along with more resources to put into innovative technology education.
As the EDB reviews the proposal, the school will hold a press conference on Monday (Sep 25) to provide more detail on its future development prospects.
EDB stated that it has already reminded the sponsoring body to find an appropriate time to release information to the stakeholders.
