MTR Kwun Tong Line services disrupted after passenger falls onto tracks

The MTR Corporation said the train services between Choi Hung Station and Tiu Keng Leng Station are suspended due to “a person on the track” at Kwun Tong Station.

The rail giant announced at around 2.30 pm that the Kwun Tong Line services are being disrupted, while trains between Whampoa and Choi Hung Station will operate at 7-minute intervals.

It was learned that an elderly man fell onto the tracks at 2.20 pm, and he was certified dead on the scene. Passengers were evacuated from one of the trains and asked to leave the station.

A free shuttle bus service is arranged at affected stations after the service suspension, MTR added.

The service gradually resumed about an hour later.
