A freshman orientation camp hosted by the University of Hong Kong's nursing society has been rocked by allegations of indecent assault and cannabis consumption after one of the participants shared her horrifying story online.
The news came after an anonymous Instagram post alleged that a first-year female student was indecently assaulted at a three-day camp in Yuen Long’s Tai Tong Holiday Camp, and that other participants were also assaulted by their seniors.
The post also alleged that students at the orientation camp used marijuana during the event.
The university’s nursing society commented on the case, saying it is now looking into the incident and urges anyone with complaints to come forward with evidence. A spokesperson for the university said it was trying to find out more details about the alleged incidents.
Police said on Monday that a report on the case had been received and officers from the New Territories North crime unit were following up.
