The new service will provide one daily train service for both southbound and northbound directions.
Train services between Hong Kong West Kowloon Station and Guangzhoudong, Shenzhenbei, and Futian stations will be strengthened starting from July 1 as well, MTR said.
The daily train frequency between Guangzhoudong and Hong Kong will increase from 13 to 19. The train frequency connecting to Shenzhenbei and Futian station will also increase from 49 to 51, and from 30 to 38, respectively.
With the launch of the additional services and the slight adjustment to the train schedule of various destinations, the network coverage of High Speed Rail will further expand to 69 stations across the country, with train services increased from 164 to 182 daily.
“We will continue to actively liaise with the mainland railway authorities to explore ways to enhance high-speed rail services, ensuring a more convenient and flexible travel experience for passengers,” said MTR’s Hong Kong Transport Services Director Jeny Yeung Mei-chun.
