There is good news from this year’s Global Sources Hong Kong Show as more smart home appliances have appeared to make life easier for one and all.
A distinguished example is a robot vacuum cleaner developed last year by Shenzhen Takdir Intelligent Electric Appliance Co. Ltd Equipped with an artificial intelligence chip and a long-life battery, this smart gadget emancipates people from tiresome housework.
A product of the company’s flagship series, it boasts a 3-in-1 function of sweeping, vacuuming and mopping. It also has a laser distance sensor that enables it to accurately map the entire floor. Its intelligent navigation and path planning capabilities mean that the cleaner can avoid obstacles and find the best cleaning path at home.
The cleaner features strong suction power with a V-shaped floating roller brush that can sweep away all dust, hair and large particles of debris. It can also serve as a smart wet mop, making it a more practical and useful smart home appliance. With a 350ml water tank that stores water to mop the entire house, there is no need to refill the water tank frequently.
The company pointed out that artificial intelligence used in the product leads to a higher degree of safety. There are 3 sets of cliff sensors evenly distributed at the bottom, which is a good safety protection mechanism for the robot. There is no need to worry about the machine falling from a height in a duplex or split-level environment.
A variety of critical thinking strategies help the robot get out of complex situations.
For example, when the battery level falls below 20 percent, the robot vacuum cleaner will automatically locate the charging dock and return for charging. Twenty-four sets of recharge signal transmitters double the sensing signal area, and the recharge accuracy is greatly improved, enabling the robot to accurately return to the charging dock.
The Company’s Mr. Liu noted that robot vacuum cleaners have become popular in mainland China since 2018, and their major marketing thrust is to attract more Western buyers.
From water to ice
Another company producing ice makers and water purifiers – Ningbo Aquart Electrical Appliance Co. Ltd – makes its debut at the Global Sources show this year.
The company’s Middle East & South America Marketing Director Barry Zhang said it only takes seven to eight minutes to make ice cubes after pouring water into the machine.
“Our major targets are Westerners who have the habit of drinking cold or even iced water, and of adding ice cubes to their drinks,” he explained. “The local market is, by comparison, rather insignificant as Chinese people are not in the habit of drinking cold water. It’s a culture thing!”
