The Executive Council approves the government's proposal of emergency legislative work for introducing COVID-19 vaccines in Hong Kong, according to reports.
The Executive Council was briefed by government officials today over the proposal.
The Government previously emphasized that the quality assurance of the vaccines must be well supported in order for the vaccine to be approved for emergency use in Hong Kong.
It is expected the bill will be brought to the Legco for approval on January 6 next month at the earliest.
Sources say the government will also set up a compensation fund to provide protection for the first batch of citizens getting the jab.
