36 virus patients added to infected tally, 31 critical

Hong Kong has reported 36 additional confirmed coronavirus patients, taking the tally to 4,561.

Dr Chuang Shuk-kwan of the Centre for Health Protection said one is an imported patient and the rest are locally infected.

Among the 35 local patients, 29 are linked to previously-diagnosed patients. The source of infection for six others is unknown. 

The Hospital Authority said there was one death.

Also, 3,677 have recovered in total after 78 patients were discharged in the past 24 hours.

Among the 751 confirmed patients in public hospitals, Lei Yue Mun Park and Holiday Village and Community Treatment Facility in the AsiaWorld-Expo, 31 are critical, 38 are serious and the rest are stable, said Hospital Authority Chief Manager for Quality and Standards Dr Lau Ka-Hin.

The occupancy rates of negative pressure beds and wards are 56 percent and 64 percent respectively.
