In an interview with the Hong Kong Policy Research Institute's Hong Kong Vision Project, Zhong said Hong Kong's virus death rate is low compare to the rest of the world.
Hong Kong's death rate is only 0.4 percent, which is lower than Germany's 1.4 percent, adding that many European countries' death rate have climbed to 10 percent.
But he urged people to remain vigilant as the situation in Hong Kong is very good but it is very bad elsewhere. He pointed out that the speed of transmission of the virus is much faster than SARS and MERS as on average, one person can spread it to three people.
Zhong also said he believes that if Hong Kong and the mainland work hard together, the fight against the epidemic will be a success. Photo: video screen capture.
