Television Broadcasts (0511) forecasted a positive net profit of over HK$50 million in 2025 on Tuesday, swinging from a loss of HK$491 million in 2024.
Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization is also expected to grow 18.6 percent year-on-year to over HK$350 million, compared to HK$295 million in 2024.
For the fourth quarter alone, its advertising income from terrestrial free-to-air channels in Hong Kong has continued to show year-on-year growth, boosted by advertising and sponsorship deals relating to the premiere of its drama series The Queen of News 2, bringing its full-year advertising income to see a double-digit percentage increase.
Its digital advertising revenue continued to grow by double-digit percentage during the period as clients purchased more advertising packages on myTV SUPER streaming service and other digital assets.
Other digital assets, including social media accounts and mobile apps, continued to record a double-digit percentage rise in terms of followers and subscribers in the fourth quarter, while average monthly active viewers across all tiers of myTV SUPER streaming service remained stable at approximately 1.9 million during the period, TVB said.
