TVB denies report of sudden employee retirements

Television Broadcasts (0511) refuted media reports claiming that some of its employees were subjected to "sudden retirement," emphasizing that its retirement age policy was implemented last year.

TVB said in a statement that the description of "sudden retirement" is inaccurate. The broadcaster clarified that it consistently adheres to an orderly and transparent personnel management policy, implementing its retirement system in a manner that balances both corporate development and the appropriate arrangement of staff.

The company explained that its new retirement age policy was approved by management on September 20, 2024, and officially took effect on October 1, 2024. 

According to this system, the company arranges a handover period of up to one year. Retiring employees select their successors within this planned period, and the company ensures sufficient time for a smooth and seamless transition.
