MemeStrategy to launch Asia's first trading card vaulting service

Digital asset company MemeStrategy (2440) launched a premium trading card vaulting service designed for professional collectors and dealers named Grade10 Vault, marking Asia's first such offering from a publicly listed company, amid a significant growth in the global trading card market.

The company introduced this service that combines museum-grade security with authoritative authentication and independent institutional auditing and is integrated with blockchain-based digital certification technology to provide unprecedented verification assurance and asset management solutions for high-value trading cards.

This follows MemeStrategy's successful acquisition of collectible trading card brand Grade10 last year, which is the home to the largest collector community in Asia's trading card sector.

"In recent years, the collectibles market has continued to gain momentum, and collectors have evolved from enthusiasts into holders of cultural assets. For high-value trading cards, authenticity, traceability, and security have become paramount," said Ray Chan Chin-ching, chief executive of MemeStrategy.

The global trading cards market is expected to continue its robust expansion, valued at US$15.8 billion (HK$123.2 billion) in 2024, is set to reach US$23.5 billion by 2030, according to Strategic Market Research. 

Trading cards gradually evolved from a hobbyist pursuit into an alternative asset class with significant investment value, said the company.

It further noted that while this market is accompanied by a sharp rise in counterfeits and fraud, the market demand for an institutional‑quality, reliable storage platform has become increasingly urgent.

During the initial phase, Grade10 Vault will adopt an invitation-only model, with access limited to selected partners and collectors.
