Apple offers additional trade-in discounts for new iPhones in China

Apple is offering additional trade-in discounts for new iPhones in China until June 18, according to its website on Friday.

The trade-in amount ranges from 550 yuan (HK$599) to 5,700 yuan.

Apple China said on its website that existing devices can be exchanged for new ones online or at the Apple Store, and that if a device does not qualify for the credit, it will be recycled and disposed of safely and free of charge, in order to help protect the earth's precious resources.

The iPhone 16 Pro is priced from 7,999 yuan and the iPhone 16 Pro Max is priced from 9,999 yuan.

It comes as Chinese e-commerce platforms are racing to offer discounts on consumer electronics to boost sales.
