Burmie Wong Wing-kwan, who didn't flinch in a cockroach-infested flat in Tai Po for the TVB inside story program Scoop, can discard anti-creepy crawly outfits. Wong, who began her television career by joining in the 2012 Miss Hong Kong Pageant, announced her departure from TVB on Instagram yesterday to take up the year-long contract-based job, which will put HK$67,295 a month in her bank account.
For she's not expected to run into a surge of cockroaches at her new desk in the Home Affairs Bureau, where she's landed a gig as media officer.

In going, Wong said she was grateful for the love and care provided by Scoop's production team. As its presenter, she's tackled among other things a rat infestation in the SAR as well as getting close to elderly folk unable to buy masks amid the pandemic.
As for that cockroach-infested flat at Fu Heng Estate, Wong was praised for bravery on her signing-off assignment. She was seen interviewing the flat's owner in last Saturday's Scoop episode.
